Residents Sought To Serve On Committees

The Costa Mesa City Council is seeking residents to fill 33 vacancies on five council committees. March 28 is the application deadline. You can download and fill out an application here to serve on the following committees:

Cultural Arts Committee
This committee works to promote the city slogan “City of the Arts.” It maintains a youth gallery in City Hall and a directory of local artists. There are six member vacancies. For further information on this committee, please contact Lisa McPherson at (714) 754-5322.

Historical Preservation Committee
This committee serves to maintain, preserve, educate and promote the City’s historical resources, and advises the City Council on such matters. Currently, there are five member vacancies. For further information on this committee, please contact Lisa McPherson at (714) 754-5322.

Housing and Public Service Grant Committee
This committee works to promote community understanding of the community development process and activities funded by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD), and the Community Development Block Grant. Pension Oversight Committee
This committee will focus on long term pension and financial matters as it pertains to the City’s CalPers retirement unfunded pension obligations and unfunded medical liabilities. Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee
This committee will analyze and make recommendations on future project proposals concerning Fairview Park. There are seven member vacancies. For further information on this committee, please contact Ernesto Munoz at (714)754-5343.

Those interested in serving on any of the committees must complete a “Committee Application Form,” which may be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office or from here on the city’s website. The completed form may be mailed to: Costa Mesa City Clerk, Post Office Box 1200, Costa Mesa, 92628-1200; faxed to (714) 754-4942; or hand delivered to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. The deadline for submission is 5 p.m., Thursday, March 28.
