Costa Mesans for Responsible Government (CM4RG) enjoyed the festivities at the 4th Annual Costa Mesa Community Run on Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28. A number of members and friends of CM4RG ran or walked in the race on a beautiful Saturday morning.
CM4RG is a strong supporter of the mission of the Community Run Committee and of Costa Mesa and Estancia High Schools. CM4RG bought a booth for the event with the intent of meeting as many residents as possible. However, politics was inserted into the process when the City-appointed liaison to the Community Run put pressure on members of our group to withdraw and on the Run Committee members to exclude CM4RG.
Considering the circumstances, CM4RG was disappointed, but not surprised by this decision. At last night’s city council meeting, CM4RG President Robin Leffler noted that “we wanted to support and help the Run Committee. A dozen runners wearing CM4RG t-shirts ran the races, attended events on Friday night, supported groups with booths at the fair, and had a lot of fun.”
CM4RG looks forward to meeting all residents of the city at future public events and discussing the future of responsible government in Costa Mesa. If you would like to learn more, visit our website, email us (infocm4rgorg) , and Like us on Facebook.
